DEL is one of the modern airports in the world. The airport has most recently been recognized at various forums globally which includes SKYTRAX World Airport Award 2017 for the Best Airport in India and Central Asia, Delhi Airport has been adjudged as World’s second best Airport by Airports Council International’s (ACI) in 2016 in the category of above 40 million passengers per annum (mppa).

Over a period of time, Delhi airport has emerged as a new international Hub airport in the South East Asia. DEL is now connected with more than 135 destinations with 52 Foreign Carriers and 11 Indian carriers. Delhi Airport handled a record 57.7 million passengers in FY2017 with a growth of 19% YoY. The airport added 9.3 million passengers in the financial year. International transfers/transit constitutes 23.5% of the international passengers. In terms of Cargo, airport handled record 857 thousand metric tonnes of cargo with a growth of 9% YoY.

Pursuant to a competitive bidding process, DIAL has awarded a new in-flight catering facility to EIH Ltd. for 25 yrs. EIHL has developed a state of the art in-flight catering facility in approximately 18,500 square meters of land at Indira Gandhi Airport. This new facility which is ISO 22000:2005 certified is equipped with latest equipment to meet requirements of International quality standards and has a capacity to produce and deliver 18,000 meals per day.
